Canadian Friends of Haifa University was founded in 1973 by the late Ray Wolfe.
Board members in the early years included such well-known community leaders as: David Azrieli, Donald Carr, Sam Crystal, Dr. Arnold (Bucky) Epstein, George Cohon, Michael Davis, Mike Feldman and Marvin Sadowski.
Our mission is to cultivate collaborative programs between the University of Haifa and Canadian institutions of higher learning; to promote international programs for Canadian students; to encourage cultural exchanges between the University faculty and students, and to assist the University of Haifa achieve its financial goals.
Through our annual Mount Carmel Dinners, held in Toronto, the University of Haifa awards honorary doctorate degrees to outstanding Canadians who have made exceptional contributions to science, medicine, education, justice, culture and the State of Israel.
