Carol graduated from the University of Toronto and taught high school for seven years before going off to London, England, where her husband, Dr. Allan Gordon, did a sub-specialty in neuro-muscular disease.

Carol had a rewarding 30-year experience in many leadership positions with the Canadian Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science.  She helped plan or led numerous tribute dinners honouring distinguished Canadian scientists and corporate leaders and raised money for various chairs and research programs in Israel.  With Marvelle Koffler, she founded Weizmann Women and Science, organizing high level scientific lectures and a Tribute Dinner for Marvelle.  WWS introduced many women to the Weizmann Institute and heightened awareness of the role of women doing scientific research and education and became the programming arm of the Toronto Chapter. She served on the National and Toronto Boards of the Canadian Friends, she and Allan were honoured by Weizmann at a Tribute Dinner, and both were asked to serve on the International Board of Governors.

For many years, while her three children attended CHAT, Carol served on its Board and she now practices Real Estate. Carol is honoured to join the Haifa University Board.  She believes that the most relevant area of volunteerism currently is the need to combat antisemitism.
