Sam has been married to Sylvia for over 50 years. They have two children and five
grandchildren. Their daughter is a lawyer and their son is a professor in Computer
Sciences at the University of Guelph.
Sam graduated from Concordia with a degree in Commerce and went on to McGill.
After university, Sam became a Chartered Accountant.
In 1969, the family moved to Toronto and Sam started a lighting business in partnership with a very good friend. The business, D.V.I. Lighting sells lighting fixtures to stores across Canada to resell to the public. The business is now being run by his son-in-law and Sam is now basically retired from the day-to-day operations.
